Dr Malik Janjua is a specialist adult gastroenterologist with extensive training both in Australia and internationally. He completed his basic physician training, followed by advanced training in gastroenterology and hepatology, in Perth.
Dr Janjua went on to undertake two clinical and research fellowships in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)—first at Royal Perth Hospital, and subsequently at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in the United Kingdom.
His clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, general gastroenterology, and colorectal cancer screening. He is actively involved in clinical research and has presented his work at both national and international conferences.
Dr Janjua holds accreditation in colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and capsule endoscopy through the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
