Hesperia is pleased to announce two quality providers are joining the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct. Montserrat Day Hospitals will deliver a short stay hospital and new Cancer Centre and Marriott International will introduce the State’s first Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
Taking an integrated approach to healthcare, the new Montserrat hospital will achieve a gold standard of medical care. The hospital will align specialists and allied health services with multidisciplinary teams to create a personalised treatment plan for every patient. Doctors will have access to the latest advancements in technology and research through on-site clinical trials.
Boasting five large world-class theatres and short stay in-patient beds, the integrated hospital will be equipped with highly trained staff and state of the art equipment. A full range of treatments for cancers and blood disorders will be available at the new Cancer Centre.
Montserrat CEO Ben Korst said he was delighted to see Montserrat continue to expand its services into the Murdoch area.
“The Hospital will offer complex short stay services for Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Gastroenterology and Ophthalmology. Over 30 specialist surgeons are already expected to join the precinct.”
“After 27 years in the healthcare industry, Murdoch Private Hospital will be Montserrat’s most innovative yet. Montserrat continues to work through a pipeline of earmarked sites for future development,” said Mr Korst.
Hesperia Director Kyle Jeavons is excited by the milestone signings, with both Montserrat and the Courtyard by Marriott aligning perfectly with the Precinct.
“Both Montserrat and Marriott are leading operators in their respective fields and we are delighted to have them as part of the Precinct. When selecting the right mix of partners for a complex mixed-use project such as this, it is essential to align with groups that share our philosophy and vision for the Precinct,” said Kyle.
As part of Marriott International, the Courtyard by Marriott, Murdoch is slated to feature 150 modern-styled guest rooms, an all-day dining restaurant with a semi-open kitchen concept, a café and bar. Additional plans include a fitness centre and meeting room.
“We are thrilled to be working with Hesperia to bring the Courtyard by Marriott brand to Perth,” said Richard Crawford, Vice President Hotel Development, Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific. “The signing of Courtyard by Marriott Perth, Murdoch further underscores Marriott International’s continued effort in expanding into urban growth corridors outside of Australia’s capital cities.”
Forming the first stage of the larger Murdoch Activity Centre, Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct (MHKP) has been identified as a strategic priority area by the State Government.
On completion, MHKP will form the heart of the Murdoch Activity Centre and is projected to become the largest employment hub outside the Perth CBD. The Precinct is adjacent to two of Perth’s largest tertiary hospitals and will include Aegis Aged Care, office suites, childcare centre and hospitality offerings.
Construction is currently underway, with all five buildings within MHKP being constructed by Multiplex simultaneously. Completion is scheduled for mid-2023.
