Murdoch Square is part of the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct, a 10-hectare expanse, situated 13kms south of the Perth CBD and 10kms to the east of Fremantle, where healthcare, research, education, and innovation converge.
Murdoch Square is co-located with Fiona Stanley Hospital, St John of God Hospital, Wexford Medical Centre and Murdoch University campus, and is less than 1km from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and South Metropolitan TAFE.

Comprising five connected, multi-storey buildings, that surround a landscaped community plaza, Murdoch Square brings together exceptional medical, health and aged care services, alongside a range of community and recreational facilities, including childcare, gym and wellness centre, a host of retail, food and beverage venues and short-stay hotel accommodation for out-of-town families of hospital patients or students at Murdoch University.
Commercial office space and residential accommodation, including specialist disability apartments, are also located onsite within the precinct.

Murdoch Square has been awarded a 5 Star Green Star – Design and As Built v1.2 Design Review certified rating by the Green Building Council Australia.
Committed to sustainability and eco-conscious practices, Murdoch Square is actively targeting 5 Star NABERS Energy ratings, a Net Zero carbon position and the use of 100% renewable energy including from a large, onsite solar PV system.
Green Building Council Australia assesses sustainability outcomes from the design and construction of new buildings or major refurbishments, across nine holistic impact categories, encouraging industry to create buildings that are not just green but healthy, liveable, productive, resilient and sustainable.

Open to the public in March 2024, Murdoch Square is the result of successful collaboration between the State Government of Western Australia, South Metropolitan Health Service, Development WA, Hesperia and Aegis Health in response to urgent demand for increased medical and health services in Perth’s thriving southern corridor. Now complete, Murdoch Square will help ease the pressure on nearby hospitals and medical centres.
As part of the broader Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct, the location is expected to become the largest specialist zone and centre for employment outside of the Perth CBD, with more than 10,000 visitors expected each day, providing around 35,000 people with employment, and tertiary education facilities for approximately 44,000 students.
